Until
very
recently I would usually recommend a different model or style of
hearing aid for the various different levels of hearing loss.The situation in the hearing aid industry has now changed greatly with the arrival of the high tech LITE (Loudspeaker In The Ear) hearing aid models. These tiny Behind-The-Ear hearing aids actually have their tiny loudspeaker sitting in the ear canal rather than being inside the hearing aid body. This technique allows these LITE models to be used with almost any level of hearing loss, from Mild to Severe. Their small size and low profile allows them to be almost invisible when fitted. The interchangeable fittings used with these LITE models also allows you to be fitted with working hearing aids on the day of your hearing test! |

Phonak Audeo YES IX The Phonak Audeo YES IX is a superb LITE (Loudspeaker In The Ear) model fitted with electronically steerable directional microphones to optimise performance in noise. The advanced computer programs in the hearing aid recognise if the sound environment you are in is quiet or noisy, and adjust the hearing aid settings to match. This excellent LITE technology fitted to a tiny Behind-The-Ear package allows a wide range of hearing losses to be dealt with, from Mild to Severe. The Phonak Audeo YES IX is ideal for those with busy lifestyles which need the full benefit of an ultra advanced hearing aid. The Audeo YES IX includes a unique frequency compression feature called SoundRecover. This allows high frequency sounds outside your hearing range to be 'down shifted' into a frequency range that you CAN hear. This feature is especially useful for those with severe high frequency losses - often called 'ski slope' losses. The Audeo YES IX also includes an integrated hearing test system, which can allow very accurate fittings to be made. The Audeo YES IX is very discreet and has sophisticated styling. It is available in many colours including beige, greys, silvers and golds. The Audeo YES IX can be remote controlled via the MyPilot ultra advanced handheld colour LCD remote control. The Audeo YES IX can also talk to your mobile phone, TV and other devices via a Bluetooth adaptor called the iCom. Having fitted many of the Phonak YES Audeo IX I have come to the conclusion that it is one of the very best hearing aid products on the market. This excellent LITE technology fitted to a tiny Behind-The-Ear package allows a wide range of hearing losses to be dealt with, from Mild to Severe. The dot2 30 is ideal for those with busy lifestyles but who do not want or need the remote control or Bluetooth features of the Phonak Audeo YES IX. The dot2 30 includes an advanced 'classifier' feature which optimises its performance in a variety of acoustic setting. The dot2 30 includes a tiny push button which can be used to change the hearing aid programs. The dot2 30 has sophisticated styling, and is probably one of the smallest LITE models on the market. The GN Resound dot2 30 is absolutely tiny!
